Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen
A celebration of the 10th anniversary of the illustrated book, "The Legend of Sleeping Bear"

The book's award-winning illustrator, Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen, will greet people. The book was written by Kathy-jo Wargin. Sleeping Bear Press is publishing a special limited edition of the book that will include a free, animated DVD of the story, with narration by Michigan actor Jeff Daniels. In 1998, the Michigan Legislature declared the book "The official children's book of the state of Michigan."
