Saturday, June 28, 1:30 - 3:00 PM	Brian Dunnigan, A Picturesque Situation: Mackinac Before Photography, 1615-1860 Drawing on decades of research, Brian Leigh Dunnigan presents a stunning collection of pre-photographic images of Mackinac including maps, plans, drawings, engravings, and paintings complemented by a comprehensive, thoroughly researched, and eminently readable text. Tuesday, July 1, 2-4:00 PM	Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen A celebration of the 10th anniversary of the illustrated book, "The Legend of Sleeping Bear" The book's award-winning illustrator, Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen, will greet people. The book was written by Kathy-jo Wargin. Sleeping Bear Press is publishing a special limited edition of the book that will include a free, animated DVD of the story, with narration by Michigan actor Jeff Daniels. In 1998, the Michigan Legislature declared the book "The official children's book of the state of Michigan." (Click on the Children's link for more.)
